About us

IGN CONSULTING Structural Engineers Ltd was originally established in 2016 as Sole Trader by structural engineer Andrei Ignat.

Since then, as a structural engineering consultancy, we provide a comprehensive range of services, which are bespoke to each of our clients. We work closely with our clients to ensure we meet their requirements and have a proactive approach throughout both the design and construction phases of a project. 

​

By appointing us in the early stages of your project we guarantee a maximum collaboration with the architect and the builder, as well as with you, the client. This will ensure that your project is developed based on criteria such as:

​

  • cost-effective structural solutions fully integrated into the architectural layout

  • ease and speed of construction

  • availability of materials and suitable labour

  • and, last but not least, cost

Managing Director

Andrei Ignat is our director and senior structural engineer. He  graduated Faculty of Constructions, “Gh. Asachi” Technical University from Iasi, Romania in 2009.

 

Within one year, he obtained a postgraduate diploma in “Rehabilitation and safety increase in construction”.

Do you need a structural engineer?

You will be consulting a structural engineer when you plan on carrying out renovation or making changes to your home that will affect the stability of your property.  It is a legal requirement for Building Control Part A purposes. Those which often require the services of a structural engineer include:

  • Building an extension

  • Modifying doors and windows

  • Loft conversions

  • Removing or modifying internal walls

  • Underpinning existing foundations
